Has anyone ever purchased a horse trailer that has been repossessed by the bank?

Ride’N'Slide! asked:

I was just curious if you even could. I mean it would make sense to me, since you can do it with houses and other vehicles, but I’ve never seen a repossessed trailer for sale.
Might be a way to get a good deal on a nice trailer!

go to your local trailer dealer and see if they have any that they have had repossed. they may also have a selection of used trailers.

Most banks and credit unions have a ‘lot’ with repoed cars, trucks and trailers. They keep them there to give the ‘owner’ a chance to redeem them and get them back. After about 30 days…they are sent to auctions and sold to the highest bidder.

Least that was how it used to be done…

I’ve never bought a trailer from a bank, but I guess you could. Just be sure you check it out thoroughly. Check the floor for rotted boards, the wiring for wear, the brakes and coupling. Be sure the tires are good and the roof doesn’t leak. Be careful of rust y areas that could weaken the trailer structure. Good luck in your search.
