jtmmiller1@sbcglobal.net asked:
I need to replace the boat triler tires but cannot find the size I need. Is there another tire number that will meet the specifications?
Where can I find boat trailer tires the size of F78X14?

A 205/75R-14 should be about the same size.
It’s a trailer, so you don’t have to worry about speedometer issues, measure the outside diameter of the tire and the width, and go to a store that has tires on display, and compare, but I’m quite sure what I’ve listed above will be about right.
Also, check with tirerack.com, if you call them they’ll confirm, and they’re also a good source for tires.

Go to any automotive tire store, they will set you up.

F78 14 was an old tire size last used in the 70’s…
225 75 14 should do OK for you now…
Tire Rack is a great place to compare tires and to check performance ratings and customer feedback and best of all, they have excellent shipping and you’ll have your tires next day, following day at the latest, to your door…
I don’t use any other source for tires

Unless the boat is large were you should use a 8 ply tire, the 205/75R14 should be plenty good.

If your caring a load stay away from car tires they won’t carry the load>Side walls need to be 6 ply or greater> 205 x14 will carry 1825 lbs 225 are 2450>trailer tires>
